Michael Garlinghouse, just turned 21, I skate for Vibralux Denim, Xsjado, Roaring Lion Energy Drink, and Pinewski’s Skate Shop, I have been skating for almost 12 years.

Your Current setup¿

Xsjado Chris Farmer 3’s, Create Original frames, Street Artist Don Bambrick 58mm wheels, and Themgoods Swiss bearings.

What are the things you do in a ''normal'' day of the life? first you wake up, till you go to sleep.

I get out of bed pretty quick after waking up, not too much of a snooze button dude, I just start thinking of all the stuff I have to do and I get up and get started, I like to have really productive days.

If it is a Tuesday or Thursday: Breakfast (cereal with soy milk, yogurt and granola, egg sandwich, bagel with PB, smoothie, museli are the normal options) and joe, hop on the bus to class,

learn some stuff, go to the skate park with the crew, do homework, go to my night class, do homework and go to sleep. If it is any of the other days: Breakfast and joe, homework, go to the skatepark with the crew, homework, then the rad new job 5pm to about 1130 pm at a Mediterranean Restaurant and Coffee shop, cruise the web and snooze.

Who are your usually skatebuddies?

The main crew is: Jeph Howard, Brett Dasovic, Chris Farmer, Shane McClay, Blake Cohen, Kevin Meland, Aaron Peterson, John Haynes, Troy Klingelhoets, and Taylor Plante plus a few others depending on the day.

We saw your On top section, and its so rad, can you tell us how went the making of, of your section?

Sick, thanks a lot! Filming for On Top was a blast! Working with AJ is awesome and it is quite an experience filming with that whole crew. Because of school I couldn’t go on all the filming trips, which made it hard to come through exactly how I wanted to and get as much footage as I would have liked to. But I got to go on the first tour through the Southern States and was fortunate enough to guide the team to all of Minnesota’s spots. It was a little difficult filming for the video in Minnesota because I had already done most of the tricks I wanted to on the home turf. So I mainly focused on bringing the dudes to cool stuff. I also got to go to Kansas City just before the deadline to get a few more moves to finish my part, which helped. It was rad to be able to work with AJ and I look forward to doing more projects with bossman in the future.

Im sure that a lot of people ask you this shit a lot of times, but spanish bladers want to know that, Why you skate with a helmet? Its for a bad experience you had shredding?

I have always worn a helmet, not because I had a bad fall or something. I have had the same helmet for all 12 years, just changed the foam. My parents never made me wear it, obviously they were psyched I always wore it. I have a bit of a phobia the day I stop wearing it, I’ll smoke my domepiece. I’m just used to wearing it, I don’t notice it, and all my homies say they don’t notice it at all either.

How you get introduced to the Vibralux team?

I met AJ at Lake Owen probably 6 years ago. I stayed at Alex’s pad about a year later when I took my first trip to Kansas City. And when I quit Con Artist 2 years ago, I called AJ and talked to him about my situation and then it clicked that winter. It has been fucking awesome being a part of Vibralux; AJ and Alex are top-notch dudes.

Do you know something of Spain? Any plans to come to shred on Barcelona?

I don’t know much about Spain, I have taken Spanish classes in high school and passed the language proficiency exam in college. I try to speak Spanish with the chefs at the restaurant I work at; it’s really fun.

I would absolutely love to come to Barcelona, and I am going to be doing a study abroad program next year, so I’ll be in Europe for a school semester (4 months) next year, Barcelona is definitely going to be a part of that trip.

For you, what was your section of the year? (2009)

A few that stand out: Everyone in Truth 2 (Billy O’Neill is probably my favorite), Joey Chase in Wake Up is phenomenal, the section has an intensity and emotional aspect that puts you in a daze while you watch it, and Farmer’s part in TML2 The Breakdown,

Tell us a reason why we must buy TML2?

A few reasons: Jeph Howard is still doing huge stunts no one else will do, Chris Farmer is skating even faster and doing impossible tricks, John Bolino is the next big thing. Blake Cohen filmed every trick in the video himself. It’s a video showcasing our amazing crew in Minnesota.

Do you have a favorite trick? Your fakie zerospin Stale on gaps its naturally yours…

Zerospin stales are definitely one of my favorite tricks, I always do too many, so I have to limit myself and choose wisely when I’m filming. Top Mistrials are my second favorite trick. Third would be zerospin makios.
